Start: 1:00 PM
Warm-up: 12:00 PM
End: 4:00 PM (estimated)

Biggest meet of the season - slightly different meet entry procedures and rules - PLEASE READ ALL INFO BELOW!

  • There is a fee per event to enter this meet - the club will cover meet entry fees; swimmers will owe nothing! ($4 per individual event, $2.50 per relay event)
  • If you WILL NOT be at the meet, it is IMPERATIVE that you
    • tell/email a coach AND
    • go online and "declare" your swimmers' absence (click on the green “meet entry” icon for this meet to do so)

DEADLINE

  • THIS THURSDAY, JUNE 20. Like all of our other meets, if your child plans to attend, GO ONTO YOUR ACCOUNT AND DECLARE YOUR CHILD(REN) AS "ATTENDING."
  • If you wait till AFTER June 20 to let us know your child will be swimming, we will CHARGE YOU THE MEET ENTRY FEE or if you sign your child(ren) up as "ATTENDING" and tell us after the deadline that your child(ren) will not be swimming, you will also be CHARGED THE MEET ENTRY FEE.
  • NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE 22ND. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

CHAMPS MEET INFORMATION

  • PARKING
    • Will be in the North parking lot, north of the pool and east of the football stadium. There is also parking across the street adjacent to the swim facility. All spectators and teams will enter the facility at the pool gate located on the north side of the pool.
    • No tailgating allowed in the parking lot
  • CHECK IN: 11:30 AM
  • WARM UP: Have your swimmer ready (suit, cap, goggles on, events on arm written and sunscreen on) to jump in at 12 PM
    • Canyon Springs will warm up in the North Pool, lanes 9-10
  • MEET START TIME: 1 PM
  • SWIM FACILITY
    • There are two 10 lane short course 25-yard pools which we will compete with an automatic timing system and a large scoreboard display. There will be bleachers in each corner on the north end and two tents in each corner on the south end.
    • CANYON SPRINGS WILL BE LOCATED ON THE NORTH UPPER DECK LEFT CORNER
    • ALL swimmers will sit with the team
    • All spectator seating is above the pool level and no one is allowed on the deck without a Lone Star Summer Swim League Deck Pass attached.
      • Note - parents/swimmers DO NOT sit together at this meet. Coaches and a handful of our team's volunteers (those with deck passes only) will be with the swimmers on deck, helping them get to their events.
    • Swimmers will not be allowed to up/down from the viewing area during the meet.
    • The team will provide a cooler (or 2) of water/fruit. Consider sending a small snack/beverage with your swimmer, but keep in mind, swimmers are NOT ALLOWED to bring in personal coolers (there just isn't space).

CONDUCT

  1. There can be no running on the deck.
  2. No loitering in the locker rooms or playing in the showers.
  3. No swimmers continuously going up and down the stairs. ALL SWIMMERS must stay IN THE UPPER DECK LEFT CORNER until our team ready bench person walks the swimmers down to the pool deck behind the blocks where the Meet Marshal will take over.
  4. No posters/banners/streamers/confetti allowed in the facility.
  5. No cake or pastries allowed in the facility.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • The Divisional / Champs meet is the biggest (and most exciting) meet of the season.
  • The Sailfish will be competing against the other 4 teams in our league's division at the same time, in a large, deep, very "professional" pool setting.
  • It's a large, LOUD, fast-paced event.
  • Due to the size of the meet, we are limited in the number of swimmers/relays we are allowed to enter in each event; at this meet, your swimmer MAY end up swimming events that they don't routinely swim. We try to make sure we enter a relay in every event, so sometimes we ask our younger swimmers to "swim up" with older relays so Canyon Springs Sailfish are represented.

AWARDS

  • Swimmers earn MEDALS for 1st-3rd places and ribbons for up to 16th place.
  • Plaques will be given to the boy and girl who score the most points in their respective age group.
  • Banners will be given to the team that scores the most points in each age group, by gender (these are the banners that we proudly display along the gutters at the pool for our Home meets.)

It's a great experience, and we hope that ALL SAILFISH SWIMMERS will participate and believe that knowing some of the above details will help your swimmer (and you) be adequately prepared.

Please reach out to a parent board member or coach if you have questions.
